Classes and Activities at the Lavins Activities Center

Gymnastics Class
Tumbling skills including rolls, cartwheels, handstands, headstands, etc. will be taught according to the skill level of the class.  Emphasis will be on coordination, strength and flexibility. With positive reinforcement the students will gain the confidence to learn new skills.  Comfortable gym clothes with no zippers should be worn.  Ages 5-7 from 11:15 a.m. to Noon, Ages 8-11 Noon to 12:45 p.m.  Cost is $45.00

Tiny Tots
Parents and children 18 months to 3 years of age will enjoy participating in this gross motor skill development class.  Taught by Suzanne Piepszowski in the Lavins Center Gym.

SESSION III 6 weeks $48.00
Tuesdays 10:30-11:15 a.m.  April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20

Pipsqueak P.E.
A one-hour children's program concentrating on developmental motor skill.  The children will learn many skills through games, song and movement.  This is a terrific program for preschool children (3-6 years old) taught by Suzanne Piepszowski in the Lavins Center Gym.  Registration is limited to 12 children per class and children must be potty trained.

Tuesdays 1:00-2:00 p.m.  April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20

Adult Golf Instruction
This class is designed for beginners and for those of you who need to brush up on your skills. You will need to bring 4 clubs to the first class. A wood, 7 iron, pitching wedge and a putter. Practical hands-on instruction and video taping of each golfer will take place during each session. Golf lessons will be taught in the Golden Family Gymnasium accommodating up to 12 participants. Sign up early with your friends to reserve your spot!

Dodge Ball for Kids
Sign your children up for an hour of play in running, ducking, catching and throwing in an assortment of dodge ball games in the Golden Family Gymnasium.  This popular game is the newest craze and went over so well last year that it’s back! Players don’t need to worry about getting hit because all the balls that are used are soft coated foam balls. We will have our personal trainer explain the rules, monitor the games and set up the teams. Sign up and pay at the Lavins Center Reception desk by Friday, Feb. 3.  For 5 - 10 year old girls and boys.  Participants need to wear gym shoes and comfortable clothes.

It’s a Pajama Party !  Featuring the Merry Music Maker
and special guest Kitzee Coo Coo

For 2 - 8 year olds and the young at heart. Wear your pajamas and a smiling face and bring a blanket to sit on.  Be entertained with music, dancing, stories, puppets and silly fun. Bedtime will never be the same so mark your calendars for these fun events.
