Park Maintenance Shift Leaders
Pool Supervisor (full time/seasonal)
The Pool Supervisor is responsible for supervision and administration of all activities at the swimming pool in order to provide quality swim programs and services. The Supervisor reports to the Park Director and is responsible for the supervision and operation of the swimming pool and all lifeguard and pool attendant staff; preseason training and recertification class; organization and operation of swim lessons, swim meets and special events; overseeing weekly lifeguard work schedules; handling pool operational and payroll reports; and handling emergency situations and patron concerns or complaints. Position Requirements – Lifeguard Instructor Certification, American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, AED and Blood Borne Pathogen Certifications. Good communication and organizational skills, ability to work well with others and be able to supervise 30-40 seasonal staff members.
Head Lifeguard (full time/seasonal)
Must have general Lifesaving First Aid and CPR Certification. Duties and responsibilities include assisting the pool supervisor with training, supervising, and evaluating lifeguard and pool attendant staff; create weekly work schedules and station rotation schedules for pool staff; watch the water and surrounding area to spot swimmers in distress and facilitate immediate response; watch for people acting in an unsafe manner; tend to pool deck safety in general. Lifeguard (full time/seasonal)
Must have general Lifesaving First Aid and CPR Certification. Duties include supervising swimming activities at the pool and ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures and protocols are followed; assisting with swim lessons, daily opening and closing duties, and general pool deck maintenance; attending training and staff meetings; watching and warning swimmers of improper activities or danger; enforcing pool regulations and water safety policies; and promote a positive and safe experience for all. Swim Team Coaches (full time/seasonal) dependent upon swim season
Must have general Lifesaving First Aid and CPR Certification. The Swim Team Coach responsibilities include determining and analyzing swim strokes, techniques and skill levels; developing individualized swim programs; educating swim team members on various techniques and styles; and overseeing training and preparation for swim meets. Park Maintenance Shift Leaders (year-round part time)
Responsible for grounds upkeep, including trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc. Performing necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc. Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts, train and assist new employees, and ensure safety standards are followed. Also inspect equipment and communicate needed repairs or replacements to management. Be available to work weekends, holidays and special events. Building Maintenance/Janitorial (year-round part time)
General janitorial service for activities center including locker rooms, gymnasium and movie theatres. General, vacuuming, mopping, dry mopping, dusting, cleaning toilet and shower stalls, maintaining sink and shower soap and hand towel dispensers, emptying trash and recycling bins, cleaning staff lunch room, and receiving and stocking supply deliveries. Garden Staff (full time/seasonal)
Duties include weeding, trimming and general maintenance of landscaping throughout the City of Grosse Pointe Park. Some heavy lifting may be required.
