The purpose of this program is to build academic, physical and mental capacity in each student to ensure they excel as leaders in our society. We work to build confidence in each student to combat issues such as mental illness, childhood obesity and adolescent bullying. When students are confident in who they are, they are not afraid to try new things, they ask questions, they become open to feedback and they learn to practice reflection. We use movement infused learning to help students embody these skills, which will empower them academically, physically and mentally. Along with mental centering and boxing fundamentals, we include body weight conditioning and end with 15 minutes of yoga and reflection. For more detailed information on the structure of this course, visit recpro.grossepointepark.org.
