Click here to read the City's weekly Coronavirus Newsletter for April 6th - April 10th.
In an effort to continue slowing the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), The City of Grosse Pointe Park is continuing to take additional proactive measures to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community. At the recommendation of the Wayne County Health Department and to align with Governor Whitmer’s extension of the Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order, the City of Grosse Pointe Park will continue with modifying or suspending certain non-emergency operations. The following operational changes are still in effect and will continue through April 30th, 2020 when we will reassess any potential changes.

  • City Hall including the Municipal Court remains closed to the public. City business within City Hall including the Municipal Court can be conducted via U.S. Mail, the brown drop-box outside City Hall or online.
  • All of the parks will continue to be available for foot traffic only from 10am-6pm. All playscapes, tennis courts, pickle ball courts,  the Lavins Center, and Tompkins Center continue to be closed to the public.  The kayak launch has also been closed to the public to promote social distancing.
  • The Marina will remain closed until May 1st. The Park and Recreation Department will be in contact with well owners with more details.
  • GFL has suspended all yard waste pick-up service effective April 13, 2020. Please do not leave yard waste at the curb with your regular rubbish. The City will notify residents when yard waste pick-up service resumes.
  • Wayne County has launched a new COVID-19 Dashboard; you can check it out here.

The entire City statement can be read here. The City will be monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates on the website and the Facebook page. We want to urge City residents to continue to Stay Home and Stay Safe during this time.
