Probation Department
The Probation Department is responsible for conducting pre-sentencing investigations and/or substance abuse screenings and assessments of defendants as ordered by the Court, for the purpose of recommending to the Court, appropriate punitive and rehabilitative options.
After sentencing, the Probation Department monitors any defendant whom the Court orders for oversight, to ensure compliance of all conditions of the sentence. As a further task, the defendant will be provided guidance and direction in the achievement of these conditions. The majority of the costs for these matters are paid for by the defendant.
