Grosse Pointe Park Foundation

At the City of Grosse Pointe Park, we have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by a community of generous residents and, because of your donations, the City has wonderful amenities that truly make Grosse Pointe Park a one of a kind place to live. A list of projects funded by the foundation over numerous years can be found here. Many of the projects on the list would not have been made possible if not for the generous residents of Grosse Pointe Park.

History of the Grosse Pointe Park Foundation
Established in 1984, the Grosse Pointe Pak Foundation was the first private foundation of all the Grosse Pointe cities. It is a non-profit Michigan corporation formed by the action of the City of Grosse Pointe Park City Council. The foundation is classified as a public charity under the Internal Revenue and all contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Because of the foundation, Grosse Pointe Park is privileged to have two beautiful lake-front parks: Windmill Pointe Park and Patterson Park. At Windmill Pointe Park, amenities include swimming, walking, tennis courts, picnicking, fishing, a fitness center, movie watching (inside 2 different City owned theatres), hosting family events, and watching a breathtaking view of the sunset. At Patterson Park, amenities include walking along the boardwalk, ice skating, a splash pad, a putting/chipping green, tennis courts and warming up at the outdoor fireplace. This is only a handful of projects the Foundation has had the pleasure of working on. What could be next?

The Foundation has been committed to providing Grosse Pointe Park residents a model community to live, work, and pay since its inception. The Foundation supports a wide range of projects that include both practical and aesthetic enhancement to the City of Grosse Pointe Park. The Foundation relies upon YOU, the generous donors for project funding. Without donor support throughout the years, Grosse Pointe Park would look very different then it does today. Anyone can be a contributor and the Foundation accepts all kinds of contributions including cash, stock donations, and real property. Gifts can be given by individuals, corporations, and other foundations.
