Texty

Texty

Did you know that Grosse Pointe Park (along with most other Michigan 911 centers) has Texty (Text to 911)?

It's easy to do: Simply open your text app, initiate a new text and type 911 as the recipient. Please include your name, location and a brief account of your emergency in the text and then hit send. A 911 Telecommunicator will respond and be in contact with you via texting.

911

Texting during an emergency could be helpful if you are deaf, hard of hearing, have a speech disability, or if a voice call to 911 might otherwise be dangerous or impossible.

Reminder: If you are able to make a voice call to 911, and if it is safe to do so, you should always make a voice call to 911.
